                                                Colouring wood

This sight is under construction !!

Colouring wood can be a difficult decision when you realise all the good work done so far can end in disaster!

Looking for advice is a good idea, but where do you find it?

The first thing to do is decide on what the feel of the work is to be.

Is the feeling to be one of high intensity, or more towards soft and gentle. Are the colours to be primary or shades of your own making. Gloss matt or somewhere in between.

But even before all these decisions need to be addressed the nature of the wood you have chosen to worked with has to be considered.

Hard wood. Soft wood. Wood which is pale in colour. Wood which is dark to medium brown, even black! Wood with tight grain. Wood which is open grain, it goes on and on.

This is a huge subject, and one that will take me some time to write.

So be patient as I begin to tackle this topic.

Much more to follow SOON.
